Create Completely The Life You Can’t Wait To Wake Up To

As humans, we tend to blame life and destiny for how our life has turned out. This is especially true when we are in a bad phase in life. But to be honest, life is what we make out of it. Your life is in your control. This control comes from the choices you make. These choices and decisions made by you are what helps you create your life.

The truth is, you need to create completely the life you can't wait to wake up to. For this to be possible, you need to take steps towards accomplishing your life goals. Setting goals can feel boring and challenging but take baby steps and you will eventually see steady progress in life.

Here are 5 steps that you can take to set goals for yourself and create completely the life you can’t wait to wake up to!

1. Write Down Your Life Goals

We all have a dream of how our life should be… a vision. It could be anything from traveling the world or going on a cruise after retirement or making at least 2 trips every year with the family or opening up your own business venture by the time you are 30. No matter what your dream is, think about it, and write down actionable, measurable goals that will help you achieve that dream.

Be honest with yourself and don’t worry about the end goal. For now, start with just a 12-month goal that can help you focus and move towards the dream. Once you get it out of your head and on paper, you will be able to figure out the steps you need to take on a daily basis to reach that goal/dream in life.

2. Check-in On Your Goals

It’s important to check in on your goals maybe once every month to give you an idea of where you stand. Are you moving towards your goal or have there been any setbacks? Checking in on your goals will help you figure out if you need to take any additional steps or keep a tab on finances if you are saving up for something.

3. Focus and Follow Your Goals

Following daily tasks or goals can sometimes be boring but you have to focus on the result. Focus on one day at a time and remind yourself why you are doing this. It’s easy to just sit and watch TV or scroll through those reels on Instagram but they are not going to help you achieve your dream or goal in life. They are not going to make your life worth waking up to in the morning.

Stay away from negativity, whether it is in person or on social media. Surround yourself with people who will motivate you to move forward in life always.

4. Take Small Steps Towards That Dream

Sometimes in the hurry to be where we want to be in life, we try and take big leaps and then fail. That can disappoint and discourage you or even lead to big losses in terms of money. No matter what your dream is, take small, baby steps in the beginning and work towards smaller goals.

Most successful people didn’t become successful overnight, there are years of hard work behind that. Buying that beach house debt-free means years of living a simple life and saving. It can be boring and hard but in the end, it will all be worth it.

5. Hold On To Your Life Plans

Like always, life may not always turn out how you plan it. Last year, COVID showed all of us how unpredictable life can be. Your retirement plans of taking a world tour or being an entrepreneur can take a hit because of a pandemic or any other reason. But that does not mean you don’t dream or make plans, it just means you have to hold on to them a little longer. If you stumble, just pick yourself up and start again. Nothing ever comes easy in life!

With small goals and small steps, each one of us can create a life we can’t wait to wake up to. It’s up to you to make the most of life and live the dream that you always wanted to.
